The Hardy Girl...

Francoise Hardy, "Tous les garcons et les filles"

This song is so beautiful. I remember listening to this song as a kid... I don't know where... perhaps with my mom... yes, I remember my mom singing this song on our karaoke machine... I love this song... I love my mom...

McDonald's

I went on another audition today... it was for McDonald's... print work... it was interesting because it's got a rock climbing theme to it... I don't eat McDonald's, but the ad looked to be interesting... they had some rock climbing holds up and you went up and posed like you were climbing on it... the pictures would be used on the sides of buildings as if the climber is climbing up to the top of the building to get to a cup of coffee or something like that. Anyway, with my indoor climbing experience, I feel like I had a level of confidence that I normally wouldn't have... it was quick and easy... I should've worn exactly what I wear to go rock climbing... instead, I attempted to look like a hiker/climber type dude... screw that!

Good bye old friend...

I recently had to say good bye to an old friend of mine... my 1997 Honda Accord, my first new car. 1997, that means I'd been driving it around for 12 years - that's a long time. It was always good to me... but unfortunately, it wouldn't be able to say the same about me. Was it part of me being young and dumb? Or was it because I was being lazy? I think it had a little (or a lot) to do with both... once it got to the point where the Accord was starting to get beat up, I had no job to take care of it... once I did have the job, it was not a priority of mine... I figured, it runs so why fix it? This seems kind of silly, but I feel guilty because it was so good to me. That's why a part of me was so sad to see it go. When I was younger, I always thought I'd keep it forever... I remember my dad laughing at me saying that wouldn't be so... the rebellious teen in me thought otherwise, but he was right. I've learned many things with the Accord and I hope to be able to transfer that knowledge onto my next car.

Racing down the freeway against other idiots, three girlfriends, police encounters, friends, school trips, SF trips, car shows, car accidents, jobs, job interviews, auditions, rehearsals... this car has driven everyone - from friends, dates, family, girlfriends, non-friends, strangers... people who have all somehow contributed to my life... just as it has contributed to my life. I will miss you old friend and I'm sorry that I wasn't always able to be as good of a friend to you as you were to me... you've been there for me and I hope that I can treat my next car the way you deserved to be treated... I will do so Accord-ingly. Haha...

Catchup to you...

*Sigh* I've been so busy with things... school, work, staying active... it's not that I don't want to blog with you... here, let's play catch up. Here's what happened since the last time I blogged:

-I auditioned for an Apple print job and booked it... this actually happened before the 'Gym Rat' post.

-Ben Spies won his first WSBK race during race 2 of the first race of the season! Go Yamaha!

-Noriyuki Haga won race 1 of the first WSBK race of the season! Go Nori!!!

-I've had a plethora of cramming going on... took my first Comm. 330 test, Comm. 200 quiz, turned in my first abstract (?), turned in my annotated bibliography yesterday... papers... writing papers and all that stuff were always my weak point... but it's an opportunity to improve on this.

-The MotoGP boys tested at the Losail Circuit in Qatar... Stoner finished 1st, Lorenzo 2nd, and Rossi 3rd.

That's about it. I'm thinking about buying a new car cause it's time... but you know, I just finished paying off debt so I'd like to have a one year cushion where I can save up a good amount of money just to have, especially since I've never had the opportunity to do that, what, with Infrared and all. So yeah, I'm gonna hold off... damn, I'm getting responsible... sortof. Gotta think about moving out once school is done too... I'm old, dude.

That's all!
